PLOT: A top secret military project hires prestigious university students to assist creating a cell-altering machine called the 'gammasphere'. Lead of the group is arrogant Bruce Banner, mainly complimented by compassionate Betty Ross. When the gammasphere goes wrong, Bruce Banner is afflicted with the ability to turn into a mammoth creature soon dubbed 'The Hulk', a manifestation of his own inner demons that he mutates into when it is emotionally triggered. The Hulk has topped the UK and Ireland box office in its opening weekend, taking £3.5m. The movie, starring Eric Bana, knocked Charlie's Angels 2 off the top spot, reports the BBC. Hulk, directed by Ang Lee, has already held the number one position in the US but received mixed reviews.

On CNN's Talk Asia Lee tells CNN’s Lorraine Hahn how his directing experience with Crouching Tiger... inspired him to produce The Hulk. He says, "I think what we try to do here that has never been done before is to humanise a character with computer generated images effect. A lot of continuity and subtlety and real-life performance are very new to the animators. I’m the best person to fill in that form. I think doing Crouching Tiger helped me to know a lot of choreography and actions."
